WPZ Research is an independent and autonomous research institute that supports the transfer of basic and applied research into scientific and economic policy practice. WPZ Research contributes above all to the further development of evidence-based (i.e. scientifically based) policy advice in the fields of science, business and education.
In order to improve the exchange of knowledge with basic university research, WPZ Research maintains regular cooperation with the Centre of Economic Policy WPZ of University St. Gallen.

The Centre of Economic Policy Vienna (WPZ), anchored at the Institute for National Economics at the University of St. Gallen, is headed by Prof. Dr. Christian Keuschnigg. The aim of WPZ is to derive economic policy recommendations from modern theory and empirical evidence that serve the growth and welfare of society and emphasize sustainability in the interests of future generations.
